It’s some bunny’s birthday…

Garth Williams, who was born on April 16, 1912, is best known for his illustrations for Charlotte’s Web, Stuart Little, and the Little House. But he seemed to have a special connection to rabbits.

He created at least five books starring rabbits. And while The Little Fur Family does not feature rabbits, the first edition was wrapped in real rabbit fur! 😮

It’s been quite the process to get every letter cleaned up and Devin still has a lot more to do, but we’re very excited to begin using them!

It was particularly meaningful to have Christian as the guest of honor for our first birthday celebrations, because the life-size interactive version of the bus from Last Stop on Market Street was the first complete exhibit The Rabbit hOle built in 2019.

Picture book legend and word play virtuoso Jon Agee is coming to The Rabbit hOle for two events this April!

On Friday, April 11 join us an adults 21+ only evening of hilarity and interactive word play with Jon. He will discuss his insanely funny and maniacal magnum opus, Otto — the world’s first and only palindromic graphic novel — then, take us on a journey in real time to create and illustrate impromptu palindromes, anagrams and oxymorons!

On Saturday, April 12 join us for a series of family workshops to create ALIEN ART! Geared towards children aged 6 and up, each workshop will include a read aloud, alien art making and a book signing with Agee offered at two time slots: 11:00 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Crictor spent St. Patrick's Day dreaming happily, knowing that all that business about driving snakes from Ireland is just legend. There no snakes native to the island, but Crictor's creator, Tomi Ungerer, made his home there for more than half of his life. 💚
