Facilities Supervisor
Job Summary

The Facilities Supervisor plays an important role in ensuring the smooth operation and
maintenance of all facilities at The Rabbit hOle. This position oversees the daily maintenance,
upkeep, and cleanliness of the museum's physical spaces, exhibits, and grounds. The ideal
candidate will have strong organizational skills, problem-solving skills, a working knowledge of
building systems, and a commitment to providing a safe and welcoming environment for
children and families.

Responsibilities

● Facility Maintenance: Supervise and perform routine facility inspection, assessment and

maintenance tasks including the building’s mechanical systems, door and window

hardware, painting, landscaping and janitorial needs.

● Exhibit Maintenance: Coordinate with designated staff to ensure exhibits are clean and

ready for Guests at each day’s opening of the museum.

● Safety and Compliance: Maintain compliance with all safety regulations and conduct

regular safety inspections of building systems, in coordination with the Operations

Manager and designated staff. Help implement and oversee emergency procedures.

● Vendor Coordination: Work with the Operations Manager and designated staff to sustain

relationships with external contractors and vendors for maintenance, repairs, and

material needs.

● Event Support: Provide support for museum events, ensuring facilities are prepared and

operational as required.

● Inventory and Supplies: Manage inventory of supplies and equipment needed for

maintenance and operations.

● Environmental Sustainability: Implement and oversee environmentally sustainable practices within the museum's facilities.

Requirements

● Previous experience (3+ years) in facilities supervision, preferably in a museum,

educational institution, or similar setting.

● Working knowledge of building systems and maintenance practices.

● Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.

● Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.

● Understand safety and regulatory requirements related to building management.

● Certification in facilities management or a related field is a plus.

● Comfortable working in a community-facing environment that promotes cultural

enrichment for children and families.


Physical Requirements:

● Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds.

● Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
