Seasonal part-time Bookseller
Job Summary

The Rabbit hOle is seeking experienced, children’s-book-knowledgeable booksellers to join our team in the museum’s bookstore, The Lucky Rabbit. Our booksellers are self-starting, organized, and motivated to ensure a quality bookstore experience for customers of all ages. This is a part-time, seasonal position.

Responsibilities
  • Provide friendly, knowledgeable, and professional service for bookstore customers and museum visitors.

  • Conduct POS transactions, receive and shelve incoming shipments, organize books and other merchandise throughout the store.

  • Work with Bookstore Supervisor and Directors to continually grow and develop your knowledge of The Lucky Rabbit’s inventory and actively broaden your understanding of the history of children’s literature.

  • Help maintain a clean, safe and comfortable store environment. Help create displays throughout the store, as needed.

  • Be knowledgeable about The Rabbit hOle’s exhibits and programming, and be able to respond to museum guests’ requests for information in helpful and informative ways. Assist with guests at the front desk, as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • A working knowledge of children’s literature.

  • 1-3 years of bookselling experience.

  • Basic computer skills, including MS Office and the ability to learn our POS system and inventory database (training provided).

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed. Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • A sense of humor.
